Materials
- Fisherman Stencil Set (2-pack)
- Stencil Brush Set
- Old or reclaimed wooden board
- Fusion Mineral Paint - Alabaster (or preferred background color)
- Fusion Mineral Paint - Coal Black (for stenciling)
- Painter’s tape
- Sandpaper (180 grit recommended)
- Hair dryer (optional for quicker drying)
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prep your surface: If reusing a previously stenciled sign, give it a quick sanding to smooth out any raised areas.
2. Paint your base coat: Using Fusion Mineral Paint in Alabaster or your preferred color, apply an even base coat over the sign. Let it dry completely, then apply a second coat if needed.
3. Position the stencil: Choose your favorite from the Fisherman set. Align the stencil centered on your board and tape it in place to avoid slipping.
4. Offload and stencil: Load your stencil brush with Coal Black paint and offload excess onto a paper towel. Using swirling motions, gently stencil onto the board.
5. Distress for character: Once dry, lightly sand edges and select areas of the sign to add a rustic, vintage touch.
6. Reveal and finish: Carefully remove the stencil and admire your finished work!
