This design brings cozy summer vibes to your front door with rustic charm and layered creativity. Let’s walk through this easy-to-follow DIY!

Materials Needed
- June 2025 Stencil of the Month – “Summer Nights and Firefly Lights”
- Patriotic Florals Rub-On Transfers
- Essential Rub-On Transfer Tool
- 12-inch wood round
- Acrylic paints (True Navy, White, Inca Gold)
- Essential Stencil brushes or preferred paintbrushes
- Blow dryer or craft heat tool
- Pencil, scissors, painter’s tape
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prepare Your Round
Start by tracing a circular shape (a coffee filter works in a pinch!) in the center of your wood round to use as a guide.
2. Paint the Background
Using True Navy acrylic paint, fill in the circle. Leave the outer area of the round in its natural wood finish for contrast.
3. Center Your Stencil
Place the “Summer Nights and Firefly Lights” stencil in the middle. Use painter’s tape to hold it securely in place.
4. Apply Paint
Stencil the design first with white paint, then layer over with shimmering Inca Gold for an elegant effect.
5. Add the Rub-On Transfers
Trim and layer the Patriotic Florals Transfers around the stencil, forming a wreath-like border. Use the new Essential Rub-On Transfer Tool to easily burnish each design in place.
6. The Final Look
Layer transfers, fill in gaps, and tweak as desired until your piece feels balanced. Melissa chose to tuck hers into a wreath for a truly custom summer door hanger.

- Dry each layer fully before applying transfers or additional paint to avoid bleeding or smudging.
- Cut transfers apart and store them in a small container for easy future use.
- Layer transfers freely—the clear backgrounds make overlapping stress-free.
