If you're dreaming of creating a charming coffee nook in your kitchen or gifting something special to a fellow coffee lover, this rustic DIY coffee station is just the project for you! Tammy Muto of Cheers to Creativity walks us through how to take a simple wooden box and turn it into a personalized shelf thatβs both functional and adorable. Letβs dive in!
Start with a clean, off-white painted shelf or wooden box. Use espresso brown paint to brush along the edges, giving the entire piece a warm, cozy tone.
Position your coffee cup stencil along the front face of the box. Using a sponge and espresso paint, stencil in each cup label (like "flat white" or "caramel macchiato") evenly spaced across the shelf face.
Use the bean stencil from the set on the top board of the shelf. Layer espresso and burnt umber for dimension, and highlight with a bit of white paint for a soft 3D effect.
Stencil the word "coffee" in white. Let it dry, then slightly offset the stencil and layer darker brown paint to create a soft shadow effect that gives it extra depth.
Dry brush the edges again with espresso for a distressed look. Use other stencil accents (like corners or icons) to decorate blank spaces.
Add hooks beneath the shelf for hanging mugs. Store coasters, napkins, or small saucers in the box. Customize to match your space or gift theme.
