    DIY Patriotic Round Sign

    Materials Needed

    • Wood round
    • God Bless America 10"x12" Stencil
    • 4th of July 1" Word Stencil Set
    • FolkArt Coffee Bean paint (for staining)
    • Cranberry and Midnight Blue mineral paint
    • FolkArt Vintage White paint
    • Fusion Mineral Clear Furniture Wax
    • Painter’s tape (sensitive surface recommended)
    • Stencil brushes, sponge brushes, and/or chip brushes
    • Sandpaper and sanding tool

    Step-by-Step Instructions

    1. Stain the base:
Use FolkArt Coffee Bean paint, thinned with water, to stain the entire board.

    2. Wipe off while damp:
Create an aged finish by wiping off areas while the stain is still wet.

    3. Divide your board:
Place painter's tape horizontally across the center to split the top and bottom.

    4. Wax edges for distressing:
Apply clear furniture wax around the edge for an easy chippy paint effect.

    5. Paint the top in Cranberry:
Let dry thoroughly before moving on.

    6. Paint the bottom in Vintage White:
Use a sponge brush and apply two coats for good coverage.

    7. Lightly sand:
Distress both sections once dry to give a vintage effect.

    8. Stencil the center:
Use the "God Bless America" stencil. Start with Vintage White, then shadow "God Bless" with Midnight Blue for dimension.

    9. Add extra patriotic words:
Randomly place selections from the 4th of July Word Stencil Pack in red and navy for variety.

    10. Finish with painted edges:
Lightly brush Midnight Blue paint around the edge to frame your design.

    Helpful Tips

    • Use a white undercoat before applying navy or red to help colors pop.
    • Offload your brush thoroughly before stenciling to prevent bleed-through.
    • Don’t be afraid to mix and match stencils for a custom layout!

We hope this project inspires your summer crafting! Don’t forget to check out more patriotic designs in the Patriotic Collection. Happy stenciling!
