There’s something extra special about creating artwork you can enjoy through every season of the year. ❄️🌸🌞 In this tutorial, we’re joined by Tammy Muto of Cheers to Creativity (Facebook), who shares her signature soft-color style and clever layering techniques to build three beautiful seasonal panels—Winter, Spring, and Summer. Each board starts with the same painted base, then transforms with stenciling and rub-on transfers into its own charming scene.
Get ready for a fun, colorful project you can display individually or as a full seasonal trio!
Step 1: Paint the Base
Paint each 12x12 panel with ivory paint. Let dry.
Step 2: Add Blended Color
Using a sponge, randomly pat champagne gold and white paint across the surface for soft dimension.
Step 1: Stencil the Winter Phrase
Center the stencil and paint “’Tis the Season to be Freezin’” using green paint.
Step 2: Paint the Snowflakes
Use a sponge to fill all snowflakes with orange paint for a warm winter glow.
Step 3: Add Patterned Borders
Pick a pattern from the stencil pack, then stencil matching top and bottom borders with metallic brown-gold paint.
Step 4: Add Winter Transfers
Cut out the penguin and ice skate from the Cozy Winter Cuddles pack and burnish them into place.
Step 1: Stencil the Phrase
Position “Spring Is in the Air” at the top and stencil with green paint.
Step 2: Paint the Birds
Sponge paint the two bird designs using soft pink.
Step 3: Add the Birdhouse Transfer
Cut out the birdhouse from the Easter Blessings transfer pack and burnish it into place.
Step 4: Soften the Edges
Lightly brush green paint around the edges to frame the artwork.
Step 1: Add Floral Transfer
Apply a floral design from the All American Blossoms pack.
Step 2: Add Grounding Color
Lightly brush green paint under the florals to mimic grass.
Step 3: Stencil the Summer Phrase
Stencil “Hello Summer” in bright blue beside the florals.
