This rustic 16" round sign mimics the look of planked wood using simple paint layering and distressing techniques. Topped with bold stenciled lettering and beautiful rub-on floral transfers, it's perfect for patriotic decor all year round.
Paint your 16" round with Fusion Mineral Paint in "Little Lamb" (a soft gray). Sand edges for a lightly distressed base.
Paint two horizontal black lines (top and bottom sections). Tape over the black lines to mask them.
Lightly dry brush over the white sections with paisley blue, taupe, liberty blue, and barn red to create a layered, distressed look.
Remove and shift the tape to expose the center section. Use the same dry brushing method to add color.
Once dry, sand the entire surface gently.
Cut out florals from the Patriotic Florals transfer pack. Apply one at the top and one at the bottom using the Rub-On Transfer Tool.
Position the stencil in the center. Use dark blue paint to stencil "God Bless America." Apply two coats.
Before the letters fully dry, blend in light blue paint at the bottom of each letter for a subtle ombre look.
