Today’s project is one of those pieces that feels meaningful, timeless, and beautifully simple. 💗 Sharon Hankins of I Restore Stuff shared this soft, faith-inspired canvas sign during her Essential Stencil live, and it’s perfect for Valentine’s Day or year-round decor.
Using a gentle pink backdrop, scripture typography, and a clever stenciling technique, this project creates a framed center message that truly stands out.
1. Paint the canvas background.
Start by painting a 16" × 12" canvas board with pale pink paint, covering the front and sides. Allow it to dry completely, then apply a second coat for full coverage.

2. Position and mask the center.
Place the Love Is Patient script stencil onto the canvas. Once aligned, take the Love Never Fails stencil from the Valentine Scripture & Love Sayings set and tape it in the center. This protects the space that will become your focal message.

3. Stencil the scripture background.
Using white paint and a stencil brush, offload most of the paint and fill in the words from the Love Is Patient stencil. Apply a second light coat if needed, then carefully lift the stencil.

4. Add the center message.
Reposition the Love Never Fails stencil in the center of the board. Fill it in with white paint using a stencil brush. Let it dry, then apply a second coat for crisp, bright lettering.

5. Define the center border.
Using the edges of the Love Never Fails stencil as a guide, carefully trace around it to create a subtle border. This helps define the protected area and keeps the design neat and well-centered.

This soft scripture sign works beautifully for Valentine’s Day, weddings, bedrooms, or everyday faith-inspired decor.
