Vintage Flower Truck Wooden Tray

Materials:

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Prep Your Surface
Start by preparing your round wooden tray. Make sure it’s clean, smooth, and completely dry before beginning.

Step 2: Paint the Base
Paint the entire tray with white paint, covering both the front and edges evenly. Let it dry completely, then apply a second coat if needed for full coverage.

Step 3: Secure & Stencil the Design
Secure your Flower Shop Vintage Truck stencil using painter’s tape. Since the stencil is larger than the tray, work in sections and hold it in place as needed.

Use a mini brush to stencil the top lettering with brown paint.

Step 4: Add Color to the Truck
Fill in the truck body with a soft pastel blue. Use black paint for the tires.

Step 5: Fill in the Details
Add dark green for the leaves and yellow for the flowers and truck lights. Keeping colors slightly muted helps achieve that vintage feel.

Step 6: Create a Vintage Effect
Lightly dry brush a small amount of brown paint over the truck to give it a soft, weathered look. Carefully lift the stencil once finished.

Step 7: Add Layered Text
Reposition the stencil below the truck and align the words. Fill them in with brown paint, then repeat at the bottom for the final wording.

Step 8: Distress for a Rustic Finish
Using a flat stick, lightly apply brown paint along the edges and across the surface to create a chippy, worn look.

Helpful Tips

  • Work in sections when your stencil is larger than your surface.
  • Use light layers of paint to avoid bleed-through.
  • Keep your colors soft and slightly muted for a true vintage look.
  • Distressing is optionalβ€”stop early if you prefer a cleaner finish!

This vintage truck tray is the perfect mix of farmhouse charm and springtime color. Whether you use it for decor or as a functional piece, it’s such a fun way to bring personality into your space.
