Coastal Valentine Bird Canvas

Step 1: Prep Your Canvas

Start with a pre-painted white 6×6 canvas. Lightly sand the surface to remove texture and help the transfer adhere smoothly.

Step 2: Apply the Rub-On Transfer

Cut out the two bird designs from the transfer set. Position them on the canvas and burnish firmly using the transfer tool.

Once the transfer touches the surface, it cannot be repositioned, so take a moment to line it up before pressing.

Step 3: Soft Sanding

Once the transfer is applied, lightly sand over the design again. This softens edges and gives the piece a hand-painted look.

Step 4: Add a Subtle 3D Element

Attach a small amount of clear reflective glass to the bottom of each bird. This adds a coastal sparkle without overpowering the design.

Step 5: Resin Finish

Mix resin for a full three minutes. Drizzle it over the canvas and gently spread to the edges using a spatula.

Tip: If resin pulls away slightly from the transfer, a light second coat will usually resolve it.
