Start with a square framed canvas that has been pre-painted in a soft sandstone color. Make sure the paint is completely dry before beginning.
Center the Follow the Word Stencil on the canvas and secure it in place. Using a stencil brush and Clay paint, stencil the entire design.
Allow the paint to dry and apply a second coat if needed for full coverage. Carefully remove the stencil to reveal the design.
To give the lettering extra dimension, reposition the stencil slightly upward and to one side. Using a clean stencil brush, apply off-white paint over the words.
This simple offset technique creates a fun 3D shadow effect that instantly makes the design stand out.
Once the lettering is dry, lightly dry-brush off-white paint around the edges and across the canvas.
