Get ready to add a touch of magic to your holiday decor! In this wintery DIY, Tammy Muto shows how to blend beautiful shades of blue and white for an ombre sky, stencil a silver message that shimmers, and finish the look with a snowman transfer and sparkling diamond dust. It’s the perfect blend of cozy and festive creativity!
Start by painting the top half of your 18" round with a rich gray-blue color (like Payne’s Gray). Then, as you move downward, blend in white paint for a soft ombre fade.
Using a damp brush with white paint, lightly flick and splatter paint across the board to create soft “stars” in your night sky.
Once dry, position the Christmas Eve Magic Stencil toward the top. Tape it down and fill the lettering with silver metallic paint using a mini dome brush. Apply a second coat for crisp, clean edges.
Reposition the stencil to the bottom of the board and fill in the snowy trees using white paint. Leave the snowman area blank for now. Add a second coat for a bright winter look.
Using the Santa’s Sleigh Ride Stencil, add the bonus flying Santa design just below your lettering. Lightly stencil with white pearl metallic paint for a soft, glowing finish.
Cut out a snowman from the Hope for the Holidays Rub-on Transfer pack. Position him in the snow and use the transfer tool to burnish until fully adhered.
With a mini brush, lightly tap white paint around the bottom to enhance the snowy texture and depth of your scene.
Using the same Christmas Eve Magic stencil, dab silver paint into random star cutouts to bring more twinkle across your sky.
Brush on a thin coat of varnish over the snow, then sprinkle diamond dust for a sparkling, frosty shimmer that catches the light beautifully.
