Materials You'll Need

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Create the Ombre Background

Start by painting the top half of your 18" round with a rich gray-blue color (like Payne’s Gray). Then, as you move downward, blend in white paint for a soft ombre fade.

2. Add a Starry Night Effect

Using a damp brush with white paint, lightly flick and splatter paint across the board to create soft “stars” in your night sky.

3. Stencil the Christmas Eve Magic Lettering

Once dry, position the Christmas Eve Magic Stencil toward the top. Tape it down and fill the lettering with silver metallic paint using a mini dome brush. Apply a second coat for crisp, clean edges.

4. Paint the Snowy Trees

Reposition the stencil to the bottom of the board and fill in the snowy trees using white paint. Leave the snowman area blank for now. Add a second coat for a bright winter look.

5. Add Santa in the Sky

Using the Santa’s Sleigh Ride Stencil, add the bonus flying Santa design just below your lettering. Lightly stencil with white pearl metallic paint for a soft, glowing finish.

6. Add the Snowman Transfer

Cut out a snowman from the Hope for the Holidays Rub-on Transfer pack. Position him in the snow and use the transfer tool to burnish until fully adhered.

7. Add Depth and Texture

With a mini brush, lightly tap white paint around the bottom to enhance the snowy texture and depth of your scene.

8. Add Extra Stars

Using the same Christmas Eve Magic stencil, dab silver paint into random star cutouts to bring more twinkle across your sky.

9. Finish with Diamond Dust

Brush on a thin coat of varnish over the snow, then sprinkle diamond dust for a sparkling, frosty shimmer that catches the light beautifully.

Helpful Tips

  • Always offload extra paint from your brush before stenciling to prevent bleed-through.
  • For smoother blending, dampen your brush slightly with water — but don’t oversaturate.
  • Let each layer dry completely before adding transfers or varnish.
  • Try white pearl or silver paints for a subtle metallic shimmer on winter projects.

Final Reveal

Isn’t it magical? ❄️ This ombre winter round perfectly captures the wonder of Christmas Eve with its stenciled sparkle and shimmering snowman scene.
