Stencil of the Month Club
Stencil of the Month Club
Exclusive Designs
Hi friends! Sharon Hankins of I Restore Stuff is back with a cozy primitive DIY that blends rustic paints, whimsical sheep, and timeless words. This project uses the Primitive Sheep, Primitive Crows, and Primitive Words stencil sets — plus a little surprise from the Stencil of the Month Club!
Start with a rectangular board pre-painted in off-white. Apply Rosemary green to the bottom half, Marigold orange to the top, and Sienna rust in the middle. While the paint is damp, mist lightly with water and blend the edges for a soft ombre effect.

Using the Primitive Sheep stencil, fill in two sheep bodies with white paint. Once dry, use the second layer of the stencil to add their faces and legs in black.
Next, grab the Primitive Crows stencil. Position a crow above one of the sheep and stencil in black paint for a fun farmhouse touch.

From the Stencil of the Month Club (September 2025 set), choose the picket fence design. First, stencil the base layer in white. Then align the second layer and use grey or clay paint to add rustic, weathered details.

For the perfect finishing touch, grab the Primitive Words stencil set and add the phrase “Country Charm” across the top of your board using white paint.
And here’s the finished piece!
