Glass and Transfer Patriotic Vase Project

Materials:

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Stain the Board: Apply Legacy Brown stain using a sponge and let it dry completely.
  2. Lightly Sand: Use a sanding sponge or pad to smooth the stained surface.
  3. Dry Brush with White Paint: Using a chip brush, lightly drag white acrylic paint over the board for a distressed effect.
  4. Sand Again: Once dry, sand lightly for a rustic, layered look.
  5. Apply the Rub-On Transfer: Cut out your favorite vase design and apply it using the Essential Transfer Tool.
  6. Create Glass Stems: Arrange vitrographic glass in stem-like shapes extending from the vase.
  7. Add Flower Tops: Use colorful stained glass bits to top each stem and complete the bouquet look.
Helpful Tips:
  • Use a dry brush technique to control how much white paint shows through.
  • Cut glass safely with proper tools — Amanda improvised with hand breaking, but clippers are best.
  • Use resin for a permanent hold and glossy finish after all elements are set.
  • Switch up colors or flowers for a spring or lavender theme!

Final Look

Optional: For extra durability and shine, seal the finished piece with resin once everything is fully set.
