Looking to give your decor a touch of vintage charm? Melissa Miller of Millers Rustic Sawmill shared a stunning door tag makeover using soft lace details, layered paint, and subtle shimmer. This project is perfect for anyone wanting to explore multi-layered stenciling techniques that create depth and character.
1. Prep Your Tag
Make sure your wooden door tag is clean and fully dry.
2. Stencil the Background
Secure the Fleur de Lace stencil with painter's tape. Dab on Antique White paint using a dry brush technique. Let it dry.
3. Add the Word "Vintage"
Position the "Vintage" stencil and paint it using Mermaid Tail. Let dry.
4. Apply Gel Stain
Rub Mahogany gel stain across the tag to create an aged, vintage effect. Let it dry thoroughly.
5. Highlight with Cream
Re-tape the Vintage stencil and apply Cream paint over the design. Repeat for stronger coverage.
6. Add Gold Accents
Use a dry brush to lightly apply Gold paint to the design and edges for shimmer.
7. Final Reveal
The finished door tag glows with antique elegance and handmade charm.
