Festive Patriotic DIY Decor Using Stencils and Transfers
Hi friends! Melissa Miller here, brand ambassador for Essential Stencil. In this tutorial, I created two easy and festive patriotic projects perfect for summer displays, booths, or your own home. Whether you're a stencil lover or all about transfers, this one's for you!

July 4th Mini Sign
Materials:
- 4th of July Mini Sign Stencils
- All American Blossoms Rub-on Transfer Set
- Essential Rub-On Transfer Tool
- 8x8 board canvas
- White acrylic paint
- Stencil brush and painter's tape
Instructions:
- Secure the July 4th stencil centered on an 8x8 board canvas.
- Use painter’s tape to hold the stencil in place and apply white paint using swirling motions. Apply a second coat for boldness.
- Cut out floral and flag elements from the rub-on transfer sheet. Arrange them around the stenciled design as desired.
- Burnish the transfers into place using the transfer tool. Press gently and peel.
Helpful Tips:
- Use a coffee filter to offload excess paint from your brush to avoid bleeding.
- Cut and preview your transfers on the surface before committing to placement.
Patriotic Floral Wood Decor
Materials:
- All American Blossoms Rub-on Transfer Set
- Essential Rub-On Transfer Tool
- Live edge walnut wood
- Ribbon or embellishments (optional)
Instructions:
- Start with a raw piece of live edge walnut wood.
- Choose and cut a mason jar-style design from your transfer set. Center and apply it using the transfer tool.
- Top it off with a festive ribbon or bow.
Helpful Tips:
- For a clean rustic finish, leave the wood raw or seal with wood honey or resin.
- Stand it on a shelf or lean it in a display; no hanging required!
