  • Sunset Elephant Silhouette – There is Strength in Kindness

Framed Zebra – “Born to Stand Out”

This framed zebra project uses layered stenciling on patterned scrapbook paper to create a bold, graphic look with a polished finish.

Materials

Step 1: Prep Your Paper

Choose a clean 12x12 patterned scrapbook paper. Make sure it is completely dry and free of dust before starting.

Step 2: First Stencil Layer

Position the zebra stencil on one side of the paper. Use a mini stencil brush and apply white paint to create your base layer.

Step 3: Second Layer

Once dry, apply a second layer using black paint. Allow it to dry completely before carefully lifting the stencil.

Step 4: Add Stripes & Details

Reposition the stencil carefully. Fill in zebra stripes with white paint and add black paint for hooves and tail details.

Step 5: Add Typography

Position the wording stencil beside the zebra and fill in “Born to stand out” using black paint.

Step 6: Frame It

Place your finished artwork into a 12x12 frame and set it aside.

Sunset Elephant Silhouette – “There is Strength in Kindness”

This project features a soft blended sunset background with a bold elephant silhouette and meaningful typography.

Materials

Step 1: Blend Background

Blend orange, yellow, and white paint to create a soft sunset background. Let dry completely.

Step 2: Elephant Base Layer

Position the elephant stencil and apply a metallic black base layer. Carefully lift and allow to dry.

Step 3: Add Depth

Reposition stencil and fill in with solid black paint for depth and definition.

Step 4: Add Quote

Add the phrase “There is strength in kindness” using the stencil set.

Step 5: Add Leaf Details

Add leafy corner accents to frame the design.

Step 6: Finish & Reveal

Lightly dry brush edges with black paint for a rustic finish.

Final reveal! A soft, meaningful elephant silhouette with layered depth and texture.

Final Thoughts

These two projects show how powerful simple stencil layering can be—whether you're creating bold contrast like the zebra or soft emotion like the sunset elephant.
