❤️ A Sweet Valentine Round with Layers, Love & Charm ✨
Hello friends! Sharon here from I Restore Stuff, will be sharing a sweet Valentine project created live on the Essential Stencil page. This 16" round sign is full of classic Valentine charm — crisp color blocking, layered stencils, and a few thoughtful details that really make it special.
This project is perfect for Valentine’s Day, but the message and design can absolutely live on your wall year-round.

16" Valentine Round Sign
Materials Used
- 16" round wood board (plywood top with MDF edge)
- Painter’s tape
- Primer (for MDF edge)
- Bright white paint
- Cranberry (deep red) paint
- Pale pink paint
- Love Makes a House a Home Stencil (16x5)
- Hello Valentine Door Hanger Stencil
- Stencil Brush Set – Pure Natural Bristle
- Detail brush
- Cardboard or paper towel for offloading paint
Step 1: Prep and Prime
Start with a 16" round board. Place painter’s tape across the center to divide the top and bottom sections. Apply primer to the lower half and MDF edge to seal the surface.
Step 2: Paint the Bottom Section White
Paint the primed bottom section with bright white paint, including the sides. Let it dry fully, then apply a second coat for solid coverage.
Step 3: Mark the Divider Line
Once dry, remove the tape. Use the Hello Valentine stencil to visually mark where the upper section will end. Lay tape along the stencil edge, then remove the stencil while leaving the tape in place.
Step 4: Paint the Top Section Red
Paint the upper section with a cranberry red. Apply two coats, letting each coat dry fully. Carefully remove the tape to reveal a clean color break.
Step 5: Stencil the Hearts
Choose the hearts pattern from the Hello Valentine stencil set. Tape it to the bottom section and stencil using red paint with a dry brush technique.
Step 6: Add the Scalloped Accent
Reposition the stencil so only the scalloped pattern is exposed. Stencil with pale pink paint to create a soft, lace-like detail.
Step 7: Add the Main Message
Center the Love Makes a House a Home stencil at the top. Stencil the wording in bright white, using two light coats for crisp results.
Step 8: Finishing Touches
Using a detail brush and white paint, add small dash marks across the pink scallop area. This tiny detail adds texture and gives the design a delicate, stitched look.
Final Reveal
