Pink Vintage Truck “Country Roads” Round
Materials Used:
- 18” round wood board
- White acrylic paint
- Soft pink acrylic paint (Wild Rose–style tone)
- Brown paint (Burnt Umber works beautifully)
- Floral Vintage Trucks Rub-on Transfer
- Country Roads stencil
- Essential Rub-On Transfer Tool
- Stencil Brush Set | Pure Natural Bristle Brushes
- Painter’s tape
- Small detail brush
- Paper towel (for offloading paint)
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Create the soft blended background.
Start by painting your 18” round with white paint, making sure the coverage is smooth and even.
While the paint is still slightly damp, lightly brush in soft pink paint. Let the colors blend naturally for a gentle transition. Allow the surface to dry fully before moving on.
Important tip: If your surface feels cool or clammy, it’s not dry yet. Transfers will not stick properly unless the paint is 100% dry.
2. Apply the rub-on transfer.
Select the pink truck design from the transfer pack. Position it in the center of the board. Lightly secure placement, then burnish using the transfer tool.
Pro transfer tip: Fold the backing sheet and work in sections instead of pulling the entire sheet off at once. This helps prevent bubbles and misalignment.
3. Stencil the wording.
Tape the Country Roads stencil at the top of the board. Using a stencil brush and brown paint, fill in only the words “Country Roads.” Remove the stencil carefully.
Reposition the stencil at the bottom and repeat the process for “take me home.”
4. Add rustic aging.
Using the same stencil brush and leftover brown paint, lightly dry brush around the edges and across areas of the board for a soft, timeworn look.
5. Fill in the stencil bridges.
With a small detail brush, carefully paint in the stencil bridges to finish the lettering cleanly.
Helpful Tips:
- Transfers love dry paint. If something won’t stick, hit it with gentle heat and reburnish.
- Save the shiny transfer backing — it makes a great reusable paint palette.
- Offload paint onto a paper towel before dry brushing for a subtle, controlled finish.
- White paint is the hardest color for bridge touch-ups. Light layers work best.
