This fishing-inspired wood sign is a simple but meaningful Father’s Day project that blends soft painted backgrounds with layered stencil detail and rub-on transfers. The result is a rustic, outdoor-style design that feels calm, personal, and handcrafted.
Start by painting your decorative wood plaque with white paint. Apply a second coat if needed for full coverage.
While the base coat is still slightly damp, streak light and dark blue paint across the board. Blend them together to create a soft bluish sea background. Allow it to dry completely.
