Materials

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Base Coat

Start by painting your board white, then let it dry completely.

2. Smooth & Prep

Lightly sand the painted surface and wipe away dust.

3. Mark & Tape

Measure 10 inches from the bottom and draw a guideline. Use painter’s tape to section off the top portion for your diamond pattern.

4. Stencil the Diamond Pattern

Position the Large Checkered Pattern stencil diagonally and use a mix of white and Liberty Blue paint to fill it in with a soft ombre effect.

5. Sand for Blend

Lightly sand again to blend the paint and soften the finish.

6. Add Mediterranean Tile Stencil

Stencil below the diamond section using a design from the Mediterranean Tiles stencil pack in dark blue.

7. Apply Rub-On Transfer

Cut and apply your favorite floral from the Chinoiserie Vase & Flower Transfer Set. Use the Rub-On Transfer Tool to burnish it on smoothly.

Helpful Tips

  • Offload your brush thoroughly before stenciling to prevent bleed-through.
  • Layering blues adds depth—try mixing shades directly on the brush.
  • Always sand between steps for a smooth, professional finish.
  • Transfers look best on completely dry, smooth surfaces.
