Materials Needed

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Prep Your Signboard

Use a pre-painted or white-stained wooden board as your base. Sharon used a recycled display board showcasing neutral Fusion paint shades for a subtle, coastal background.

2. Place Your Stencils

Choose various words from the Beach & Coastal 1" Word Stencils set and arrange them in a visually balanced layout. Mix long and short words for an organic word cloud effect.

3. Stencil in Layers

Stencil half the words using Fusion Heirloom, a soft coastal blue. Let dry, then stencil the remaining words in Midnight Blue for contrast.

4. Add Rub-On Transfers

Trim small designs like shells, turtles, and starfish from the Coastal and Sea Turtles and Shells rub-on transfer sets. Place them around the stenciled words, then apply them using the Essential Rub-On Transfer Tool.

Helpful Tips

  • Offload your stencil brush: Less paint = cleaner lines. Use a dry brush technique for crisp lettering.
  • Layer colors: Don’t be afraid to stencil in two tones for a more dynamic look.
  • Balance your layout: Alternate long and short words and leave room for decorative transfers.

Final Reveal

This beachy beauty turned out full of personality and perfect for summer! Whether it’s hanging in your beach house entryway or craft space, this project brings the coastal vibes home.
