Hey friends! Melissa Bradshaw of Junk and Craft Treasures shares one of those projects that feels extra special from start to finish. This oval "Love Makes a House a Home" sign layers stencils, rub-on transfers, and soft antiquing to create a piece that works beautifully for Valentine’s Day and everyday decor.
Paint your oval board with white paint. Let it dry completely, then apply a second coat for full coverage.

Once dry, lightly sand the surface to smooth it out and wipe away any dust.

Center the "Love Makes a House a Home" stencil on the board. Use tape to mark the top and bottom edges, then remove the stencil.

Paint between the tape with black paint. Allow it to dry, then add a second coat.

Remove the tape and reposition the stencil over the black stripe. Stencil the wording using white paint and a stencil brush.

Cut out the key transfer and place it at the end of the wording. Burnish with the transfer tool.

Add additional transfer designs to the top and bottom of the board.

Position the Love Is Patient script stencil and lightly stencil with black paint to create a faded background effect. Repeat across the board.

Once everything is dry, lightly apply brown wax to the surface and edges. Buff as you go for a soft, vintage look.
