Join Melissa Miller from Millerβs Rustic Sawmill for this simple and charming DIY wooden crate project using Essential Stencil rub-on transfers and stencils. This patriotic dΓ©cor piece is perfect for summer, 4th of July celebrations, or everyday farmhouse style.
Weβre combining a vintage truck rub-on transfer with a classic βGod Bless Americaβ stencil to create a layered, rustic finish that looks beautiful filled with florals or displayed on a porch.
Start by preparing your wooden crate box. Make sure it is clean, dry, and free of dust before applying any designs. This helps ensure your transfers and paint adhere smoothly.
Cut out the vintage truck design from the 4th of July Celebration set. Position it along the bottom of the crate, making sure it is aligned before pressing it down.
Use the Essential Rub-On Transfer Tool to burnish the design firmly. Work side to side to ensure every detail transfers smoothly.
Place your May 2026 Stencil of the Month at the top of the crate. Tape it down securely so it doesnβt shift while painting.
Using a stencil brush from the Stencil Brush Set, apply white paint using a light dabbing motion. Rememberβless paint gives you cleaner, sharper lines.
The finished wooden crate is a beautiful blend of rustic charm and patriotic style. Perfect for filling with florals like hydrangeas or displaying on your porch for summer gatherings.
