DIY Patriotic Round Board with the “Wander Often” Hat Stencil & All-American Pup Transfer

During this week’s live tutorial with Amanda from Mettle Modern Design, we used one of the brand-new hat stencils from Essential Stencil to create the cutest patriotic round board featuring the sweetest little pup transfer.

Prepare your wooden round tray board by making sure the surface is clean and dry. Lightly sand if needed to create a smooth surface for both the stencil and transfer.
Tip: A quick sanding helps paint adhere more evenly and gives your finished project a smoother professional look.
Position the “Wander Often” stencil along the bottom curve of the board and secure it with painter’s tape.
Using black chalk paint and a stencil brush, gently apply paint using a light tapping motion. Once covered, carefully lift the stencil and allow the paint to dry completely.
