In this Valentine’s Day tutorial, creator Sharon Speiser of Sharon's Shed Signs & Designs shows a simple way to turn a plain 12×30" short leaner into a charming three-panel décor piece. Below you’ll find a clear breakdown of her process so you can follow along step-by-step and recreate this sweet seasonal project at home.
1. Tape off the board into three sections.
Place painter’s tape across the board to divide it into three equal rectangles. Press the edges firmly for crisp paint lines.

2. Paint the three center sections pink.
Use a sponge brush to fill each taped area with soft pink paint. Remove the tape and dry completely.

3. Retape to protect the pink areas.
Once dry, add painter’s tape around the edges of the pink rectangles.

4. Paint a bold red border.
Use a clean sponge brush to apply deep red paint to the uncovered border. Remove tape when fully dry.

5. Add a rub-on transfer to the top panel.
Cut a piece from the Romantic Vintage Stamps Rub-on Transfer set. Position and burnish using the transfer tool.

6. Stencil the LOVE design in the center.
Tape the stencil into place. Paint the letters with black and the heart in red.

7. Add a second rub-on transfer to the bottom panel.
Select another design from the same transfer pack and apply it with firm, even pressure.
