    Mardi Gras Reversible Sign

    Materials Used:

    Step-by-Step Instructions

    1. Paint the base.
Start by painting an 18ร—12โ€ oval wood board with white paint. Allow it to dry completely, then apply a second coat for full coverage. Let dry.

    2. Apply rub-on transfers.
Cut out several designs from the Mardi Gras Masquerade Rub-on Transfer Set. Randomly place them on the board, layering pieces as desired. Burnish with the transfer tool until fully adhered.

    3. Add stencil words.
Select a few words from the Mardi Gras 1โ€ Words Stencil Pack. Randomly position them across the board. Using a mini stencil brush, apply purple, green, and yellow paint.

    4. Add festive dots.
Using a dotting tool, randomly add dots of green, yellow, and purple paint around the design. This adds movement and a playful Mardi Gras feel.

    5. Seal and finish.
Once everything is completely dry, seal the surface with a clear matte varnish to protect your design.

    Helpful Tips:
    • Offload paint from the sides of your brush before stenciling to prevent bleeding.
    • If paint bleeds, let it dry completely and gently scrape with a craft knife or scissors.
    • Layering multiple rub-on transfers adds depth โ€” donโ€™t be afraid to use more than one.
    • Dots are a fast way to fill space and add energy without overwhelming the design.
