    Step-by-Step Instructions

    1. Stain the Board

Apply a coat of black water-based stain to your paddle board using a stain sponge. Use a blow dryer or heat gun to speed up drying.

    2. Sand Smooth

Once the stain has dried, lightly sand the surface until smooth.

    3. Stencil the Skeleton

Position the skeleton portion of the Come Fright In stencil on the board. Tape it down and fill it in with white acrylic paint using a stencil brush in light swirling motions. Build up the color in layers.

    4. Sand Again

After the paint is dry, give it another light sanding for a clean finish.

    5. Add the Eyes and Mouth

Line up the stencil’s face details. Using black paint and a stencil brush, fill in the eyes, nose, and mouth with light swirling strokes.

    6. Create the Aged Effect (Optional)

For a rustic look, lightly brush white paint along the edges and corners of the board to soften imperfections and add charm.

    7. Final Reveal

And that’s it — a bold Halloween Skeleton Paddle Board Sign! You can display it as crisp black and white or with a rustic aged finish.

    Helpful Tips

    • Less paint is better! Always offload paint from your brush to prevent bleeding under the stencil.
    • If your wood has imperfections, embrace them. A light hazing of white paint can camouflage flaws beautifully.
    • Work in light layers — building up color slowly creates cleaner stencil lines.
