Vintage Antique Saw DΓ©cor

This rusty hand saw makeover has the perfect antique shop feel. Tammy combined vintage typography with layered rub-on transfers to create a one-of-a-kind dΓ©cor piece that would look amazing in a man cave, antique booth, workshop, or gallery wall.

Vintage Antique Saw Decor

Materials Needed

Step 1: Clean the Saw

Start by cleaning the surface thoroughly with rubbing alcohol and a towel. This helps remove dust, grease, and residue so the stencil and transfers adhere properly.

Step 2: Add the Vintage Lettering

Position the β€œAntiques” stencil from the Antiques Vintage Sign Stencil Set onto the saw and secure it with tape.

Using a mini stencil brush, lightly stencil the wording using ivory paint. Apply a couple light coats instead of one heavy coat to keep the lettering crisp and clean.

Step 3: Layer on Vintage Transfers

Cut out several transfer designs from the Vintage Heirloom Treasures Set. Tammy used elements like a sewing machine, camera, suitcase, mirror, and perfume bottle to create a curated antique-inspired look.

Arrange the transfers across the saw and burnish them onto the surface using a transfer tool until fully adhered.

Helpful Tips

  • Use light coats of paint when stenciling onto metal surfaces to prevent bleed-through.
  • Leave some of the rusty texture visible for an authentic vintage finish.
  • Mix and layer transfer elements for a collected antique-shop aesthetic.
  • This project makes a great Father’s Day gift or booth display piece.

Fresh Cut Flowers Mini Sign

This colorful floral mini sign is cheerful, soft, and perfect for spring dΓ©cor. The blended background and ombrΓ© lettering give this small project a lot of personality.

Step 3: Add the Lettering

Stencil the wording using deep green paint for the top portion of the design.

Then mix yellow into the green paint to create a lighter shade and finish the bottom half of the word β€œFlowers” for a soft ombrΓ© effect.
