Hey friends! Tammy from Cheers to Creativity shared two creative projects that couldnβt be more different in style β a rustic vintage hand saw makeover and a bright floral mini sign. Both projects are simple to recreate and perfect for using stencils and transfers in unique ways around your home or booth space.
If you love vintage dΓ©cor, layered finishes, or colorful spring-inspired signs, these projects are full of inspiration.
This rusty hand saw makeover has the perfect antique shop feel. Tammy combined vintage typography with layered rub-on transfers to create a one-of-a-kind dΓ©cor piece that would look amazing in a man cave, antique booth, workshop, or gallery wall.
Start by cleaning the surface thoroughly with rubbing alcohol and a towel. This helps remove dust, grease, and residue so the stencil and transfers adhere properly.
Position the βAntiquesβ stencil from the Antiques Vintage Sign Stencil Set onto the saw and secure it with tape.
Using a mini stencil brush, lightly stencil the wording using ivory paint. Apply a couple light coats instead of one heavy coat to keep the lettering crisp and clean.
Cut out several transfer designs from the Vintage Heirloom Treasures Set. Tammy used elements like a sewing machine, camera, suitcase, mirror, and perfume bottle to create a curated antique-inspired look.
Arrange the transfers across the saw and burnish them onto the surface using a transfer tool until fully adhered.
This colorful floral mini sign is cheerful, soft, and perfect for spring dΓ©cor. The blended background and ombrΓ© lettering give this small project a lot of personality.
Base coat the wood panel using ivory paint.
While the paint is still wet, lightly streak in blue, yellow, and pink paints. Blend the colors softly to create movement and dimension in the background.
Position the βFresh Cut Flowersβ stencil from the Wildflower Seeds Set onto the panel.
Stencil the flower using pink paint, then lightly add ivory paint to the petal edges for extra depth and dimension.
Stencil the wording using deep green paint for the top portion of the design.
Then mix yellow into the green paint to create a lighter shade and finish the bottom half of the word βFlowersβ for a soft ombrΓ© effect.
Whether you love rustic vintage dΓ©cor or colorful floral signs, these projects show how easy it is to create unique handmade pieces using stencils and transfers from Essential Stencil.
