    Step-by-Step Instructions

    1. Create the Painted Background

Blend together purple, pink, and white acrylic paints across the broom cutout. Use a brush to soften the colors into a whimsical background.

    2. Paint the Edges

Apply purple paint along the sides and edges of the board to frame the design. Let it dry completely.

    3. Smooth the Surface

Lightly sand the background to create an even surface for stenciling.

    4. Stencil the Handle

Using the Halloween 1" Words Stencils, tape down the words “witch” and “broomstick” along the broom handle. Fill them in with black paint using a stencil brush.

    5. Add the Spiderweb

From the Spiderweb Pattern Stencil, position a small section just below the lettering. Fill lightly with black paint for texture.

    6. Stencil the Main Phrase

Center the “Welcome My Pretties” design from the I Put a Spell on You Stencil Pack in the middle of the broom. Fill with black paint.

    7. Add the Witch Silhouette

From the Salem Sisters Apothecary Stencil, stencil the witch at the top center of the broom.

    8. Embellish with Bats and Webs

Using the October Nights Mini Stencil Pack, add a few bats in random spots. Reposition the spiderweb stencil to add layered webbing below the witch silhouette.

    9. Final Reveal

Once everything is dry, you’ll have a fun, spooky Halloween broom sign ready for your front porch or entryway!

    Helpful Tips

    • Mix colors freely — blending purple, pink, and white adds a whimsical touch beyond the traditional brown broom look.
    • Use light layers when stenciling with black to prevent bleeding under the stencil.
    • Reposition stencils creatively — you don’t need to use the entire pattern. Partial webs and bats add depth.
    • Seal your project with a clear topcoat if you plan to display outdoors.
