In this tutorial, Essential Stencil Ambassador Melissa Miller shows us how to transform a simple cedar board into a charming woodland sign using rub-on transfers and stencils. This project is easy, fun, and perfect for adding seasonal cheer to your home!
Start with a clean, dry cedar rectangular board to ensure smooth application of transfers and paint.
From the Fall Forest Gnome Transfer Pack, cut out a tree design. Place it on one side of the board and firmly burnish it with the transfer tool until fully adhered.
Cut out gnome and mushroom transfers. Arrange them playfully under the tree or along the base of the board, then burnish into place for a whimsical woodland look.
On the opposite side, tape down the “Fall Sweet Fall” stencil from the Maple Autumn Greetings Mini Stencil 4pk. Use an off-white paint with your stencil brush. For a bold, crisp finish, apply a second coat.
