Hi friends! Today’s projects come straight from a fun patriotic stencil session featuring the May Stencil of the Month. These two designs are simple, bold, and perfect for seasonal decor or year-round Americana displays.
We’re focusing on two standout projects: a layered “Old Glory” sign and a striking 250th Anniversary design. Both use metallic silver accents for a clean, modern patriotic finish.

1. Create a starry base
Start with a navy-painted board. Lightly splatter silver metallic paint using a stencil brush to create a soft starry-night effect. Let dry completely.
2. Stencil “Olde Glory”
Place the “Olde Glory” stencil and fill with silver paint. Remove carefully and allow to dry.
3. Add stars for detail
Use the bonus star stencil to randomly place stars across the board. Extend slightly over edges for a finished look.
1. Add a framed border
Position the stars and stripes ribbon frame stencil around the edges. Apply silver paint in light layers for clean definition.
2. Stencil the centerpiece
Place “250th Anniversary” in the center and fill with silver paint. Keep pressure light for sharp edges.
3. Let it shine
Allow the design to dry fully before displaying. The metallic silver over navy creates a bold, modern patriotic look.
