Materials

A Time to Gather Stencil
Mini Stencil Brush Set (4pc)
Large wood door tag
Copper metallic paint
Chocolate brown paint
Black paint
Deep red paint
Green paint
Gold metallic paint
Stencil tape

Step 1: Paint the Squirrel

Position the stencil toward the lower portion of the wood door tag and tape off the wording section. Using a mini stencil brush, stencil the squirrel with metallic copper paint using light pouncing motions. Don't worry if a little paint overlaps into the acorn—you'll cover it later.

Step 2: Add the Tree Stump

Without moving the stencil, fill the tree stump using chocolate brown paint. Continue using gentle dabbing motions for smooth, even coverage.

Step 3: Create Dimension

Lightly dip the brush into black paint and blend it into portions of the tree stump for added depth. Use this darker shade to stencil all of the acorns for a natural look.

Step 4: Paint the Mushrooms

Switch to a clean mini stencil brush and fill the mushrooms with a rich deep red for a beautiful pop of autumn color.

Step 5: Finish the Fall Details

Step 6: Add the Wording

Because the full phrase won't fit all at once, stencil it in three sections.
